Back to Split

Day 16 arrived and we spent a few hours in the morning relaxing by the pool at our amazing Airbnb. We were all very sad to leave! We took the ferry back across to Split and checked into our next place. From there we wandered around town and had a great dinner near the water complete with spaghetti carbonara. Next we took a closer look at the Palace of Diocletian, which is an ancient Roman palace built between 295 and 305 CE by the Emperor Diocletian and was where he lived in is retirement. Our last stop of the day was finding gelato before walking back to our Airbnb before our drive to Mostar the next morning!

Split, Croatia

Once we finished our hike through Plitvice Lakes National Park and had lunch (hamburgers in Croatia are quite different than in the US), we drove a few hours to Split. This was a quick overnight stop before heading to the island of Brac. We settled in and then walked around town. Our dinner at Mazzgoon ended up being one of the best of the trip! Sophie, Alex, Dale & I enjoyed fresh seafood and AMAZING olive oil and wine (with a few additional courses, too). The clouds followed us from the park but we were able to make it back to the Airbnb without another downpour! Game of Thrones also filmed some in Split so we started to see all the museums and memorabilia around town. It was then time to get some rest before our ferry to Brac the next morning!
